PHOENIX -- City officials are warning Glendale residents, Cardinals fans, concertgoers and Loop 101 commuters to expect heavy traffic on Loop 101 on Sunday.According to a news release from the city of Glendale, drivers will flood the stretch of Loop 101 between Northern Avenue and Camelback Road on Sunday late afternoon and early evening because of a concert at the Jobing.com Arena and an Arizona Cardinals game at the University of Phoenix Stadium occurring simultaneously.Heavy traffic is also predicted for the surface streets surrounding the Sports and Entertainment District, officials said.Officials said 95th Avenue west of the stadium and Maryland Avenue between 93rd and 95th avenues will be closed to vehicle traffic.Glendale police will direct traffic in the area.For complete information, city officials encourage concertgoers and Cardinals fans to view maps of parking lots and traffic routes online.
