The 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show will feature more than 20 world premieres of production and/or concept vehicles from global automakers during the show's run from November 21-30th. In keeping with the rising awareness of global warming and the rising cost of fuel, many of the premier vehicles, as well those that are making their North American debut, are designed to be powered with "green" fuel.
Not content to solely use gas-electric hybrid technology, many of the feature vehicles in L.A. have been deigned to be "green" in other ways: Toyota is debuting the CNG Camry Hybrid which is powered by compressed natural gas, MINI is showcasing the all-electric and zero-emission MINI E, and Hyundai is showing off its HED-5 i-Mode concept which is built with lighter next-generation material instead of glass and metal.
2008 marks the third consecutive year that the LA Auto Show will take place in the fall rather than early January. This allows for more time between Los Angeles and the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, which will be open to the public from January 17-25, 2009.
