Kidnapping suspect still on the run in Green Valley

Posted: Updated:
GREEN VALLEY, AZ (Tucson News Now) -  Police and sheriff's deputies are still looking for the suspect connected to a kidnapping here in Tucson. Authorities say he is considered armed and dangerous.

The man left a home in Tucson, led police on a chase, crashed his car in Green Valley and then ran off.  Police say they were told about the possible kidnapping of a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday night.  On Wednesday police found out the boy was in a home on the south side.  Police officials say the boy walked out of the house with his hands tied, a bandana over his face and it looked like he had been assaulted. The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment, according to police officials.

Four people, who were also in the home were taken into custody, but police also noticed a car leaving the home and that is when a chase involving the missing suspect started.

Police followed the car because they were not sure if the kidnapping victim was in it. Officers pulled the car over, but then it suddenly drove off and the chase began. Many agencies went after it including Tucson Police, the Pima County Sheriff's Department, DPS and U.S. Border Patrol.  The car crashed into a ditch, two men got out and ran away. This was near I-19 and Continental Road.

Officers quickly found one man and took him into custody, but the other got away. Currently there are five people in custody, with one still on the loose, who is considered armed and dangerous.  Police have not released a description of the suspect, but they want residents in Green Valley to stay alert and call 911 if they see anything suspicious.
