Police search for driver in Durham hit-and-run

DURHAM, N.C. -

Police are searching for the driver of a car that hit a woman early Sunday morning near Angier Avenue in Durham.

Police said 50-year-old Sharon Hatley was walking in the roadway on East End Avenue around 1:45 a.m. when she was struck from behind by a small white car.

Hatley was transported to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

Police said the car left the scene for officer arrived. Investigators believe the car is missing the right front passenger window.
