FLAGSTAFF, AZ (CBS5) -

The Arizona Department of Public Safety released the identities of the four killed in a violent head-on collision on Interstate 40 east of Flagstaff on Thursday.

An 11-month-old child and two adults survived the 11:30 a.m. crash about 25 miles east of Flagstaff.

An eastbound passenger car crossed the median and struck another vehicle head-on, said Raul Garcia of the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Three people from California died in a white 2006 Honda sedan and a 3-year-old boy from Winslow traveling in another Honda were killed.

Michelle Bernadet Yaeger, 23, Bruce William Yaeger, 66, and Elna G. Yaeger, 68, all of Canoga Park, CA, died in the white Honda, Garcia said. All were wearing seat belts.

Kyler Lee Jensen, 3, was in a child restraint seat, but still died of his injures.

The driver Orlina Kinlecheenie, 45, and passenger Kelafer Kinlecheenie, 21, both of Winslow were wearing seat belts and were flown to Flagstaff Medical Center. The 11-month-0ld child was in a child restraint seat and was not injured, Garcia said.

The crash closed I-40 in both directions until about 2 p.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The westbound closure resulted in a 10-mile backup approaching milepost 218, ADOT said.
