CULPEPER, VA (WWBT) -

A Culpeper couple and their three children were all found dead with gunshot wounds to the head, according to court documents.

Clarence Washington and his wife Shauna were found dead by Shauna's mother around 10 p.m. Sunday night at their home. She also found their three children, four-year-old Olivia, six-year-old Oniya and 13-year-old Omesha, dead inside.

Culpeper deputies believe Clarence killed his wife and his three children before taking his own life at their home. The medical examiner confirms Clarence shot himself in the head.  Also confirmed, his wife and their three daughters were murdered and died from gunshot wounds to the head.

According to court documents obtained by NBC12, Clarence and Shauna's bodies were found in the master bedroom, while the girls' bodies were found in their bedrooms. Police noted several spent shell casings nearby. A handgun was also found a gun lying on Clarence's chest.  The list of evidence taken from the home is about three pages long.  It includes a .380 high point pistol, a .22 rifle, eight cartridge cases from the various bedrooms, five more from an outdoor mulch pile, "green plant material" from the master bedroom and cell phones.

Authorities say family and friends said the couple had been experiencing marital issues and Clarence had recently threatened Shauna with a firearm, according to the court documents.

The family's church is organizing a prayer service for the entire community at St. Steven's Baptist Church this Wednesday at 7 p.m.

In the meantime, loved ones continue to grieve including the Girl Scouts troop Shauna and her daughters belonged to. There are photos Girl Scouts troop leader Robin Johnson now cherishes. "You never realize a kid that you meet when they're in fourth grade would have that kind of an impact on your life," says Johnson.

Part of Girl Scouts Troop 2025 is now missing two prized members: Omesha and her mother Shauna. Johnson is their troop leader, Shauna was co-leader. Oniya was a Daisy in Troop 623, Shauna also led that troop. "Those kids are going into first grade next year and I'm not sure how they're going to react to this," says Johnson. She says Olivia followed her sisters and wanted to be a girl scout too. "This was something they could do together and get very involved together she loved it," says Johnson.
