The Grand Canyon University men's golf team today completed action at the El Macero Classic at the El Macero Country Club in El Macero, Calif. The Antelopes finished third among the 12 teams with a 54-hole total of 18-over 882.
Co-host UC Davis won the team title after carding an eight-under 856 through three rounds to finish 16 strokes ahead of CSU Fullerton in second. The Aggies co-hosted the tournament along with Nevada, who finished in fifth place.
GCU's Hayden Webb was just three strokes off the lead, ending the three-day tournament with a total score of three-under 213. UC Davis' Matt Hansen won individual medalist honors at six-under 210, two strokes ahead of Fullerton's Mark Anguiano.
Webb posted a seven-under on Par 5 scoring, which tied for the top mark among the field.
Mark Geddes tied for sixth overall with a 54-hole score of two-over 218. It was his sixth top-10 finish of the season.
Alec Dahlquist's total of seven-over 223 placed him in a tie for 17th place. Teammate Mariano Rossi was five strokes behind and tied for 38th.
Webb, Geddes, and Dahlquist each had 12 total birdies over the three rounds, tied for the second-most. Webb and Dahlquist both collected a GCU round-best four birdies today.
The Lopes will be back in action when they conclude their season at the Western Athletic Conference Championships, which will be held at the Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas, Nev., from May 2-4.
