PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The owner of an Arizona property management company has been indicted on suspicion of theft, forgery and fraud, according to the state Attorney General Tom Horne's office.

The indictment alleges that Dawn Anderson, owner of Maricopa Properties, LLC, misused $270,000 in trust funds that have been missing from the company's account since Jan. 31, 2013.

Anderson is a licensed broker with the Arizona Department of Real Estate and indicated in the most recent Broker Audit Declaration filed with the ADRE that the account was in balance, Horne's office said.

However, an audit determined the money, which belongs to the owners of the rental properties and managed by Anderson, was missing.
