The Grand Canyon University men's basketball team has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2014 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament and has been tapped to host a first-round game on Wednesday, March 19 against University of the Pacific. The full tournament schedule will be announced on Sunday, March 16.
Due to the current construction of Grand Canyon University Arena, the first-round CIT game will be played at Antelope Gymnasium at 7 p.m. The game is slated to be broadcast live in Phoenix on Cox7 or streamed online at www.collegeinsider.com. The game can be heard via radio on KKNT 960 AM in Phoenix and www.960thepatriot.com.
The 'Lopes, who finished their inaugural run through the Western Athletic Conference with a 15-14 overall record and 10-6 in-conference mark, will join the University of Nebraska-Omaha as the second transitioning school to ever receive a bid to play in the tournament.
Pacific went 15-15 overall this season, including a 6-12 mark in West Coast Conference play.
