FREMONT, OH (Toledo News Now) -

With heavy hearts and tears, the Fremont community came together Monday night for a vigil to remember the three men who lost their lives outside of Last Call Saloon in a shooting Sunday morning.

"They were really good men," said Diamon Garcia, a friend of the victims.  "They didn't deserve to go this way.  Their life was cut too short."

Off-duty police officer Andy Chavez, bartender Ronnie Sanchez and Army Veteran Daniel Ramirez were all shot and killed after witnesses say a fight broke out.

The men, all their 20s, leave behind friends, family, wives, girlfriends and children.

"All of this was just senseless," said Garcia.  "None of it needed to happen."

Community members who attended Monday's vigil say they hope people walk away remembering the three men lost and vowing to put an end to violence.
