An investigation is under way after a Reno baby was pronounced dead twice in the same day.
Police say the infant was initially taken to a Reno psychiatric hospital by its father on Thursday morning, then declared dead after being rushed to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno.
The baby's body was transported to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, but personnel there believed they heard the infant breathe and initiated life-saving efforts sometime after its arrival.
Police say the infant was taken back to Renown, where the efforts continued. Although the baby initially responded to the efforts, the infant ultimately was pronounced dead.
Police say they're investigating the home of the father and mother, and the probe is in its preliminary stages.
