SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A man who sparked a lockdown at a Gilbert school Monday has been arrested in the parking lot of a Food City store following a police standoff.

Matthew Henninger, 47, was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence.

SWAT officers were called to the Food City parking lot at Scottsdale and McKellips late Tuesday afternoon after Henninger barricaded himself inside his van.

He was eventually taken into custody by Gilbert Police Department's Criminal Apprehension Team. No one was hurt.

Henninger was seen Monday afternoon in a home close to San Tan Montessori School at 1475 S. Higley Road. Police said they didn't know if the suspect was armed, but the man was known to be carrying a weapon in the past, so the school was locked down.

Officers said there was no direct threat to the school or students, but they wanted to err on the side of caution.
