It's home sweet home for two baseball clubs as the city of Peoria welcomes players into their new facilities.
This week, the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres will move in to the Peoria Sports Complex for spring training. Players will officially arrive Wednesday. They will see an updated facility with state-of-the-art locker rooms, kitchens, training rooms, wellness treatment rooms, offices and a lounge. This is the first phase of a large-scale upgrade to the entire stadium and a renewed contract that keeps the teams and fans around for a long time.
The spring training season starts Feb. 27 and goes through March 28. Fans can purchase tickets for Marines and Padres games at the Peoria Sports Complex ticket office or online here.
