PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Mayor Greg Stanton helped cut the ribbon for the grand opening of a new emergency housing program for homeless teens.

Tumbleweed Center for Youth Development expanded its family of programs to include emergency housing. It is Arizona's only transitional shelter for teens and young adults.

Co-located with UMOM New Day Centers at 3307 East Van Buren St., the 30-bed shelter is designed to provide a safe alternative to street survival.
