PHOENIX (AP) -

Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband are scheduled to plant a yellow rose bush in Tucson to mark the passage of one year since a troubled gunman killed 26 people a Newtown, Conn., elementary school.

Giffords and Captain Mark Kelly will dedicate the plant Saturday in the Community Gardens of Tucson. That a garden was created after a 2011 Tucson shooting using the plants and flowers left in front of the hospital, the shooting site, and the congresswoman's district office.

The garden honors the six people who died and thirteen, including Giffords, who were injured in the 2011 shooting rampage.

It's the first addition to the garden from Giffords and Kelly.
