A Nelson County judge has approved a gag order in the Alexis Murphy abduction case.

The order covers lawyers and law enforcement in the case against Randy Taylor and comes at the request of prosecutors. Taylor is charged with abducting Murphy in August. The 17-year-old still hasn't been found.

Nelson County Commonwealth's Attorney Anthony Martin asked for the motion to stop people involved in the case from talking to the media and jeopardizing the trial.

Martin feared the intense media coverage could affect the selection of a fair jury, possibly forcing the trial moved out of Nelson County or leading to future claims of a mistrial.

Murphy's aunt, Trina Murphy, says her family supports any measure in trying Taylor.

"We're going to be in support of whatever we need to do to make sure that Randy Allen Taylor is prosecuted for my niece's abduction," said Murphy.
