EL PASO COUNTY, CO (WAFF) -
A former soldier from Madison County linked to sex assaults in three states and tried to blame his twin brother pleaded guilty in Colorado, Tuesday.
Aaron Lucas pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual assault of a child, one count of kidnapping, three counts of enticement and two counts of indecent exposure.
Lucas lured or tried to lure 11 girls into his car in Colorado while he was stationed there between 2009 and 2012.
He was linked by DNA to a sexual assault in El Paso County, Colorado. Lucas is also suspected in a 2007 case in Madison, Alabama. He faces similar charges in Texas. He planned to argue that DNA implicating him was left by his identical twin brother instead.
Lucas faces 20 years to life. Sentencing has been set for February.
Now that Lucas has pleaded guilty in Colorado, charges will not be filed against him in Alabama. Madison County District Attorney Rob Broussard said a Madison Police investigator spoke with the Alabama victim's family before moving forward and dropping the case.
