TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A semi-professional Tucson soccer team debuted its new stadium tonight.

FC Tucson played Chivas USA right across from Kino Stadium.

About 2,000 fans came to watch and the first game played on this new field.

Some of the loudest fans tonight call themselves "cactus pricks." They waived signs, cheered and heckled throughout the game.

The new stadium seats 2,300 people and cost around $3.2 million to build.

That money was left over from when the Diamondbacks and White Socks ended their 2008 spring training agreement.

Officials say this will bring a big tourism boost to Tucson.

Fans took in all the excitement.

"It's my first time here but I like the ambiance and the people that chat in the background."

"I wish one day we could have a good team you know like the next level."

Organizers announced ten major league soccer teams which will be visiting Tucson this next year.
