Dan Marjerle makes his GCU home coaching debut against Western New Mexico

GAME NOTES
VS. WESTERN NEW MEXICO: GCU and Western New Mexico have met a number of times, with the 'Lopes leading the all-time series 40-37. They met last season, with GCU posting a 69-58 win over the Mustangs. In that game, three current 'Lopes players posted double-digit scoring: Killian Larson (13), Jeff Lowery (11), and Justin Foreman (10). The Mustangs are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (D-II) and went 10-16 during the 2012-13 campaign.

LAST TIME OUT: GCU opened the 2013-14 regular season at the USD Classic last weekend. The 'Lopes led by two over Loyola Marymount with 1:52 remaining in Friday's game before the Lions outscored GCU 8-3 to end the game and post a 78-75 victory. GCU took on host San Diego the following night, losing 70-59 as the Toreros shot 52.1 percent from the field. Killian Larson averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds between the two games, while Demetrius Walker averaged 18 points for the 'Lopes.
