SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5/AP) -

Federal authorities say two tribal police officers have been wounded in an apparent shootout with a suspect in the northeast Valley.

The FBI said the unidentified suspect was also wounded shortly before 3 p.m. Friday at the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Reservation.

"Next thing you know, you heard one gun shot and then you heard a whole beret of forty rounds," said Johnny, one witness who only wanted to give his first name.

"A bunch of people (were) screaming and all of a sudden the cops were running by saying 'Get back in your house!,'" he continued.

The gunfire ended near Hazelwood Parkway and north 117th Avenue, northeast of Scottsdale on the Indian reservation.

Officials with the Phoenix office of the FBI say all three suffered non-life-threatening wounds and were taken to a Scottsdale-area hospital.
