MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The new Kroger store in Maumee has been open since Friday, and they're already giving back to the community.

Kroger plans to donate 10 percent of all its sales on Tuesday to Maumee Schools.

School officials say the donation will go toward the district's technology needs. They say having a corporate sponsor come to the community and donate is always appreciated.

"This money will allow us to help prepare the students for next year for all of the assessments for the state tests," said Superintendent Dr. Gregory Smith. "All the new tests will be online and we want to make sure we help students prepare for that and provide devices that they will need."

School officials are encouraging everyone to get out and shop at the new Kroger on Tuesday to help the district.
