The Grand Canyon University men's golf team wrapped up their fall schedule today with the final round of Price's "Give Em Five" Invitational, hosted by Texas-El Paso at the Butterfield Trail Golf Club in El Paso, Texas. The Antelopes finished 12th with a 54-hole total of 24-over 888 on the Par 72 course.
The top-three teams following yesterday's two rounds held their spot, with New Mexico State winning the tournament at 28-under 836. Colorado finished second after carding a 17-under 847, six strokes ahead of third-place San Jose State.
Mark Geddes was once again the top finisher for the 'Lopes with a three-round score of four-over 220. Over his final two rounds of the tournament, he posted an even-par 144 as he collected six birdies and an eagle.
Host UTEP's Martin Simonsen was the individual medalist with a 54-hole total of 12-under 204. He finished three strokes ahead of the three individuals who tied for second.
Alec Dahlquist tied for 43rd after carding a six-over 222. For the tournament, he led the squad with 10 birdies. Colton West finished two strokes behind his teammate and tied for 55th overall.
Hayden Webb tied for 64th at 11-over 227.
GCU will open their spring slate on Jan. 27-28 at the Anteater Invitational hosted by UC Irvine at the Mesa Verde Golf Club in Irvine, Calif. Fans can find complete results for each of GCU's spring tournaments at www.gculopes.com.
