PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Three Arizona pairs and five Arizona singles players won their championship matches in their respective brackets at the Wildcat Invitational at El Conquistador on Sunday, Oct. 13.

"We set out to win most of our flights here and we did just that," Arizona head coach Vicky Maes said. "It was great to see Kiki win a tough final and also get a big win from Lauren Marker. Shayne and Inge had a good battle for the third title in singles."

In the doubles round, senior Susan Mc Rann and junior Laura Oldham defeated UTEP's Rebeca Calvillo and Davina Meza, 9-7, to win the doubles Wildcat Flight.

Arizona's sophomores Shayne Austin and Inge Hendrikx won 8-3 over CSUN's Collet and NAU's Headford to go undefeated in the doubles Cardinal Flight.

The two also met in the singles final for the Navy Flight and Austin came out the victor with a score of 3-6, 6-2, 7-5.

Senior Akilah James and freshman Lauren Marker also paired up in the consolation doubles final of the Wildcat Flight and shut out UTSA's Rosell-Canudas and Johnson, 8-0.

Arizona's Marker triumphed over UTSA's Irene Gandara Gonzalez, 6-1, 6-0, to win the Cardinal Singles Flight. This was Marker's first fall tournament as a Wildcat.

In the championship round of the Wildcat Flight, James bested Rosell-Canudas, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3. In the consolation Navy Flight, Arizona freshman Carly Cassity earned her third win of the tournament over NAU's Headford, 6-1, 6-2.

"Oldham and Mc Rann took care of the doubles draw, which keeps them undefeated for the year," Maes said. "We dominated this event and everyone got a significant amount of wins, so I'm pretty pleased. We still have work to do, but I'm happy with our progress so far."

The Wildcats will travel to the ITA Regional Tournament in San Diego, Calif., on Oct. 17-21. For immediate results and continued coverage of Arizona Women's Tennis, visit ArizonaWildcats.com, or visit the Arizona Women's Tennis Facebook page, or follow @ArizonaWTennis on Twitter and Instagram.
