The Grand Canyon University men's golf team is the tournament leader following two rounds of play at the UNO Maverick Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Nebraska-Omaha at the Arbor Links Golf Club in Omaha, Neb.
The Antelopes shot a combined eight-over 584 through 36 holes on the par-72 course to hold a seven stroke lead over second-place, and host, Nebraska-Omaha. Iowa Western CC rounds out the top three at 25-over 601.
As a team, the 'Lopes led the field with 27 birdies and in both Par 4 and Par 5 scoring.
GCU's Mark Geddes leads the field with a 36-hole total of six-under 138, five strokes ahead of UNO's Karl Krieser who is currently in second place. Geddes posted a five-under 67 in the first round today, aided by six birdies over the first 18 holes. He finished with a tournament-best 10 birdies on the day, while his two-under on Par 4 holes was also tops.
Hayden Webb and Colton West are tied for seventh overall after carding identical scores of 3-over 147. Webb tied for the best Par 5 scoring at four-under on the day.
Alec Dahlquist shot an eight-over 152 to currently stand tied for 15th, while Billy Comeaux is one stroke behind his teammate and tied for 18th.
