Motorcycle driver killed after hitting deer in Willington

WILLINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

Connecticut State Police said a motorcycle rider was killed after hitting a deer in Willington on Tuesday morning.

Kemp B. Stewart Jr., 58, of Willington, was riding his motorcycle on Potter School Road at about 6:40 a.m. Police said a deer came out of the woods and collided with the motorcycle.

Stewart lost control of the motorcycle and went down an embankment where he crashed into several small saplings and brush.

Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The deer was also killed in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
