PHOENIX (CBS5) -

One person has been arrested and a second suspect remains on the loose after a pedestrian was shot and killed last weekend, police said.

Rayvon Cotton has been taken into custody, according to Phoenix police. Details of the arrest were not available.

The victim and his girlfriend were walking along the sidewalk together on 48th Street near McDowell Road on Sept. 7.

Two black men approached them on the sidewalk, said Phoenix police Sgt. Steve Martos. As they passed each other, one of the suspects shot and killed the victim.

The woman told police very few words were exchanged and there was no fight, Martos said.

One of the suspects still remains on the loose. No description of the remaining suspect was given.
