Three-time Olympic Gold Medalist Lisa Fernandez to throw out ceremonial first pitch

Three-time Olympic gold medalist softball player Lisa Fernandez will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the D-backs vs. Giants game this Friday at 6:40 p.m.

Fernandez is a U.S. Olympic Hall of Famer and played on the U.S. softball team during the 1996, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Games. She recorded a 0.33 ERA as a pitcher for Team USA and got the final three outs to defeat China in the gold medal game of 1996. Over the course of her career, Fernandez set an Olympic record of 59 strikeouts as a pitcher. She also helped the USA Softball Women's National Team earn gold medals at the Pan American Games and the Canada Cup as a pitcher and third baseman.
