Two families have been displaced following an overnight fire
in Colerain Township.
Fire units responded to a fire on the deck of a condo in the
4000 block of Resolute Circle just before 2:40 a.m. Tuesday morning. A resident
of the condo alerted the Colerain Fire Department of a glow outside her bedroom
Officers arriving on the scene found the decks of two condos
fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews say the flames from the deck extended into
The exterior fire was quickly extinguished and crews entered
the building to check for extensions. Firefighters found that the fire had
extended into both attic spaces. Smoke damage was widespread.
Firefighters say that two families have been displaced
following the fire. Both families are being assisted by friends and family.
All other occupants were allowed back in the building after
being checked for carbon monoxide.
The building contained six units. Authorities say all
occupants escaped and have been accounted for. No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, it
has been determined that the fire started outside of the walkout basement of
one of the units.
