WILLIAMS, AZ (AP) -

Work begins Tuesday to repave a 16-mile stretch of Interstate 40 in both directions between Williams and Ash Fork.

The Arizona Department of Transportation says the project also includes replacing guardrails and pavement markings, and some bridge work.

The department says drivers will be restricted to a single lane through the work zone.

The project is expected to be complete by next spring.
