Glendale police seek help solving hit-and-run

Posted: Updated:

Glendale police said evidence at the scene has enabled them to identify the type of car that was involved in a hit-and-run collision that left a 12-year-old boy hospitalized with serious injuries.

Police said Daniel Frampton was struck while riding his bicycle about 7 p.m. Tuesday near 45th Avenue and Mountain View Road in Glendale.

Evidence at the scene was analyzed by Glendale detectives and identified as coming from a 2010 Buick Lacrosse sedan. Witnesses told police the car that hit the boy and fled the scene was silver.

A police spokeswoman said no suspect has been identified, and that officers could only confirm the driver was a white man.

The boy remained at a Valley hospital ICU and was breathing on his own, but couldn't move one of his legs, an aunt told CBS 5 News.

He is an honors student at Sunset Elementary School and is about to start seventh grade.

The Glendale Police Department asks that anyone with information about the hit-and-run or the suspect to call 623-930-3000 or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
