EMORY, TX (KLTV) -
An East Texas man wanted in the shooting of a Grand Saline man has been arrested after three weeks on the run.
William Honea was arrested around 2:30p.m. Wednesday by Rains County Sheriff's Deputies, along with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office and Texas Department of Public Safety.
Honea was found at a residence in Rains County on Rains County Road 3333, about six miles outside of Emory, according to Chief Deputy Brad Strawn.
He said Honea tried to hide underneath bedding in the house.
Two men and one woman were arrested by deputies for aiding Honea and hindering his apprehension.
Honea has been wanted by authorities since the July 2 shooting of a 24-year-old man in Grand Saline. He was also wanted out of Wood County for possession of a controlled substance. After the shooting, investigators believed Honea might have been with Cortney Summerlin. She is wanted on three warrants in Wood County.
Authorities said Summerlin was not arrested or found when Honea was arrested Wednesday.
