Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner won the 2013 ESPY for "Best Female College Athlete" for her performance during her 2012-13 season at Baylor University. Griner was on hand to accept the award at The ESPYS in Los Angeles.
For Griner, it marks her third career ESPY award and second consecutive in the category, "Best Female College Athlete".
During her 2012-13 season at Baylor, Griner swept all major national awards for the second straight year, including AP Player of the Year, Wade Trophy, Naismith Trophy, USBWA Player of the Year and the Wooden Award, while averaging 23.8 points and 4.1 blocks.
Currently with the Phoenix Mercury, Griner leads the WNBA in blocks per game (2.83), holds the highest overall field goal percentage (0.598) and recently set the league record for most dunks in a game (2).
