The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information which would lead to the capture of fugitive Willard Wigfield.
Wigfield is wanted by the U.S. Marshals and Lake County Sheriff's Office for rape of a child under the age of 15.
Wigfield was on bond and scheduled to appear for his sentencing July 8, but failed to do so, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
As part of his conditions of bond, Wigfield had been wearing an electronic monitoring device around his ankle. When he did not show up for court, authorities checked the location of the ankle monitor. The device was sending signals from the Tuscarawas River near New Philadelphia, OH. However, an extensive search of the river by local authorities failed to locate Wigfield or the device.
Wigfield has been on the run ever since with possible sightings reported in Florida.
He is described as a 30-year-old white male standing approximately 5 feet 7 inches and weighing 210 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Authorities believe he is hiding somewhere in northern Ohio or Florida. He also has a previous address near the 7700 block of Miami Road in Mentor-on-the-Lake, OH.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Willard Wigfield is encouraged to contact the NOVFTF at 1-866-4WANTED or text keyword "WANTED" with the tip to TIP411. Tipsters may remain anonymous. A cash reward may be available.
