One dead, one injured following Jennings Co. crash

JENNINGS COUNTY, IN (FOX19) -

A single vehicle accident left one dead and one seriously injured in Jennings County, Indiana.

Authorities say that a single vehicle was traveling southbound on State Route 7 near County Road 50 around 1:40 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times ejecting both occupants.

Sherry Speer, a 49-year-old North Vernon woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

James Brewner, 50, was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.

There were no witnesses to the crash. Since both occupants were ejected, police do not know which individual was driving.

Neither of the occupants was restrained. Alcohol is believed to be a factor.
