WEST END, OH (FOX19) -

Police are looking for a driver who crashed an SUV into a building in the West End on Monday morning, causing significant damage.

It happened just before 6 a.m. at Freeman and York. The driver also side-swiped a parked truck on Freeman before hitting the building.

The driver ran off after the crash.

The building inspector was called to the scene to determine if the facility can be stabilized, or if it will have to be torn down.

The SUV, a 2005 Isuzu Ascender, was towed away from the building, allowing police to get a license plate number. They are not releasing any information about who the vehicle is registered to.

Police say the building had been under renovation and was almost ready to rent out. It is owned by Model Group.

No one was inside the building at the time.
