19 Action News Reporter Ed Gallek has learned evidence from the Ariel Castro case has now been sent to a lab in Richfield.

The Ohio Attorney General's Office will be running a series of tests on the evidence, beginning this weekend.

The evidence was collected from the home where police say Ariel Castro held three women and a child hostage for years.

The evidence was collected just after the women were found, but in recent days, investigators have been organizing and cataloging all that they have.

Attorney General Mike DeWine tells 19 Action News investigators have taken swabs of evidence throughout Castro's home, and the AG expects a good part of the testing to involve DNA.

The lab is also prepared to test hair, fingerprints and even any weapons, if requested.
