HEBRON, CT (WFSB) -

State police are searching for the man responsible for robbing a bank Wednesday morning, which led to officials placing a nearby school in lockdown.

A man, between the ages of 40 and 50, entered the Savings Institute on Main Street around 11:15 a.m.

He demanded money from a teller and threatened that he had a weapon, police said.

Police notified the neighboring RHAM high and middle schools, which were placed in a modified lockdown. The modified lockdown means there were no outside activities at the school.

It is unknown if anyone was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is being described as a white male that is 5'10" to 5'11" tall and was wearing a Cabela's baseball hat, sunglasses, a navy-colored sweatshirt and gray sweatpants

Anyone with any information on the robbery is asked to call state police at 860-537-7500.
