HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -
Hartford police arrested one suspect wanted in connection with a double shooting that happened after a fight between two rival gangs in October 2011.
Police said the fight occurred at a large house party in the 300 block of Cornwall Street on Oct. 14. A short time later, two people were shot, police said.
One victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the buttocks and another person suffered a life-threatening gunshot wounds to arms, chest and face.
On Friday, members of the Hartford Shooting Task Force arrested 18-year-old Corey Montgomery of Bloomfield.
He was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, first-degree assault and carrying a pistol without a permit and is being held on a $750,000 bond.
The Hartford Shooting Task Force was created in July 2011 to curb gun violence in the Capitol City.
"Shooting Task Force investigators will continue to identify and apprehend individuals engaged in violent criminal activity," said Hartford Police Chief James C. Rovella in a statement. "No case involving gun violence is too small or too old for investigation by the task force."
