A few showers moved through portions of Connecticut Tuesday, but a more beneficial rain is expected to arrive starting Wednesday afternoon.
Channel 3 Early Warning Weather meteorologist Scot Haney said rain is expected in Connecticut for the next several day.
Hey - at least it isn't snowing.
Haney said a weakening low pressure system is moving into the area from the south and was part of the Omega blocking pattern that caused unsettled weather out West while us here in Connecticut enjoyed amazing weather.
While it won't be raining all of the time Wednesday and Thursday, there will be beneficial rainfall from time to time. Haney said a few showers will produce heavier downpours and there is even the chance for some thunderstorms.
Temperatures will also be a little bit cooler in the coming days because of the clouds and showers keeping the highs only into the 60s and low 70s.
Haney said the low pressure will lift away from New England on Friday, which means the end of the work week will be mainly dry and warm. Temperatures could above 80 degrees over interior portions of the state Friday afternoon.
Showers and a few thunderstorms could return to the state by Friday evening, Haney said.
