OAK CREEK, AZ (CBS5) -
An Oak Creek woman was booked into jail on charges of drunken driving after the Jeep she was operating crashed into a Sedona fire station.
Cher Lyn, 53, was treated by Sedona Fire Department EMS personnel and taken to the Verde Valley Medical Center in Cottonwood.
No fire department personnel were hurt.
Lyn was driving south on Slide Rock Road at about 11 p.m. Friday when she apparently lost control and slammed into Sedona Fire District Station No. 3 at 125 Slide Rock Rd. in the Village of Oak Creek, Yavapai County sheriff's deputies said.
A fire engine sustained significant damage in the crash. Deputies said damage is likely to run into the tens of thousands of dollars. The fire engine will be out of service pending repairs.
Lyn was eventually booked into the Camp Verde Detention Center on charges of criminal damage and driving under the influence. She remains in custody.
Results of blood tests to determine the level of alcohol intoxication are pending.
