People can dispose of expired or unwanted prescription drugs in their homes at dozens of sites across Arizona on Saturday.
The goal of the no-questions-asked disposal effort is to prevent drug abuse.
The drugs will be collected between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at law enforcement offices, pharmacies and other sites.
Doug Coleman, special agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Agency in Arizona, says more than 35,000 pounds of pharmaceutical drugs were disposed of at such events over the past two years.
The public can find a nearby collection site by visiting www.dea.gov, clicking on the "Got Drugs?" icon, and following the links to a database where they enter their zip code.
