One person was killed in this wreck on I-65 North near Long Hollow Pike (TDOT Website)
GOODLETTSVILLE, TN (WSMV) -
A Goodlettsville woman was killed in a multiple-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon on I-65 North near Long Hollow Pike.
Patricia Dauer, 64, died when her 2004 Ford Expedition crossed into the lane of travel of a tractor-trailer driven by an Indian Mound, TN, man, causing the tractor-trailer to then collide into her vehicle, police said.
The Expedition struck the center guard rail, and Dauer was ejected from the vehicle. Her body was then struck by a Ford Crown Victoria driven by a Michigan man, police said.
After striking the guard rail, the Expedition hit a Volvo SUV driven by a Kentucky woman, which was then hit by the same tractor-trailer.
None of the other drivers was injured.
Investigators believe an improper lane change caused the wreck, and Dauer was not wearing a seat belt at the time.
Police said there was no evidence of alcohol, impairment or improper speed involved.
Northbound traffic was closed for several hours as crews investigated. The Tennessee Department of Transportation reports the interstate fully reopened by 4:15 p.m.
