A single-car rollover accident shutdown I-10 eastbound at 35th Avenue Monday afternoon.
An SUV carrying two adults and seven children blew a tire around 3 p.m., causing the vehicle to swerve into the median and rollover, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Several passengers were ejected from the SUV when it rolled, including the female driver who suffered from possible lift-threatening injuries, according to the Phoenix Fire Department. It is unclear if the other adult in the car was injured.
The seven children in the SUV range in ages between 3 to 7. Three of the children were taken to valley hospitals with serious injuries; the other four children only had minor injuries, according to DPS.
