A former Democratic candidate for the United States was arrested last week after police said she was trespassing at the Atria in Darien.
Police told Eyewitness News that Lee Whitnum was trying to visit her husband at the senior living facility on April 18.
Police and the facility's staff have warned Whitnum that she cannot come to the facility.
Police said she was released on a written promise to appear and is expected to be arraigned at Stamford Superior Court on April 29.
