BRIDGEPORT, CT (WFSB) -

One man is in custody after police said he allegedly tried to rob a person of their valuables from a safe deposit box at a bank in Fairfield Monday afternoon.

According to police, three suspects are accused of kidnapping a person at gunpoint from Bridgeport and bringing the individual to the TD Bank North at 1715 Black Rock Turnpike before 2 p.m.

It is unclear if the suspects took anything from the deposit box or bank.

Two officers, who were on private duty at a nearby construction site, rushed to the bank and were able to arrest one of the suspects. They were also available to free the person that the suspects allegedly kidnapped.

Police are still searching for two suspects and they continue to investigate the robbery.

The victim and bank employees were not seriously injured, police said.

Investigators are looking for a light blue or teal-colored four door Mercedes Benz CLS500.
