A new poll just released by Western New England University says Ed Markey, one of the Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate, is the front runner for the seat vacated by Secretary of State John Kerry.
Markey and his fellow U.S. Congressman Stephen Lynch are the two vying for the Democratic nomination.
The poll showed that Markey holds a 10 point lead.
However, 21 percent of likely voters are still undecided.
The same poll shows businessman Gabriel Gomez is currently leading former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan and state Rep. Daniel Winslow on the Republican side.
But all three Republicans have a wide margin to make up, to catch either of the Democratic candidates.
