Connecticut State Police were called up to assist in the massive manhunt for one of the suspects involved in the Boston Marathon bombings.
Officials from Connecticut got a notification to be on the lookout for three different Hondas that could possibly contain the most watched and sought after 19-year-old man in the world.
"It's pretty nerve-racking so close to home," said Connor Fray, of Wilton.
All alerts were later canceled when the cars turned up in Massachusetts.
"The vehicle may be important because they could contain evidence, or people who know things about something. So we're staying in constant contact, providing whatever assistance we can," said state police Lt. Paul Vance.
Police are continuing to keep a close eye on state highways, planes, ports, trains and buses in Connecticut.
Four of the state police bomb squad techs remained in Boston Friday night.
Trooper 1 is grounded, but aviation crews are prepped and prepared too.
"We've also offered to provide coverage to Massachusetts for any other issues near our borders," Vance said.
According to Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's Twitter account, emergency management officials from Connecticut were continuing to coordinate efforts with federal officials and their colleagues in Massachusetts.
State police in Connecticut want to remind the public to know your surroundings and "if you see something suspicious, speak up."
Vance said it is "important to understand" that this is criminal investigation and "information changes."
"The public are our eyes and ears. Notify 911," Vance said.
State police added that Connecticut officials should not be concerned, "but be alert and aware."
"It'll help us and them take this guy into custody safely," Vance said.
