Gila County Sheriff's deputies said they are investigating the death of a young boy in Globe on Tuesday.
The boyfriend of the 3-year-old boy's mother called 911 to report a medical problem with the child about 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to Gila County Sheriff's Detective Johnny Holmes. Emergency personnel took him to a hospital, where he died, Holmes said.
He said neither the boy's mother nor her boyfriend were under arrest or detained, and that an autopsy and medical examiner's report was expected Friday.
He said the investigation is continuing.
