TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

One of the five suspects involved in the murder of south Toledo gym owner Joe Lengel has pleaded guilty. His case has revealed more information about the crime.

Matthew Managhan admitted to helping arrange a robbery in November but didn't pull the trigger, according to court documents. He has now pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter, but according to the prosecution and the defense, Lengel was never the intended victim.

In court, Managhan told his lawyer Sam Kaplan that he and the other suspects wanted to rob someone thought to have cash and drugs at an auto shop, but instead, they stole an iPad from Lengel and killed him with a single gunshot outside of the gym he owned next door to the auto shop.

Security footage from Marlinda Jones' store nearby caught it on camera.

"First off, my heart goes out to the family," said Jones, owner of Lost Treasures. "I was really, truly hurt that he was the wrong victim."

Since November, security on Warehouse Road has dramatically increased, and shop owners are starting to feel safe again.

"Since this has happened to Joe, everyone has beefed-up security around here. I mean, there's three more facilities around here that installed cameras," Jones said.

Of the four men in custody for the crime, Managhan is the first to take a plea. Police are still looking for one more man charged with the murder, Deitrekk Boone.

"There is a nationwide pick-up radius for him," said Sgt. Joe Heffernan with TPD. "I know we are working with the US Marshals office right now, trying to track him down, so my hope is that we'll be getting him in custody here before too long."

Anyone with clues to Boone's whereabouts is asked to contact authorities immediately.
