A Detroit man is facing felony charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers stopped his vehicle on the Ohio Turnpike Tuesday afternoon.

Troopers stopped a 2013 Nissan Versa with Michigan registration for a marked lanes violation on the Turnpike near milepost 133 in Lorain County at 1:25 p.m. Upon approaching the vehicle, troopers detected an odor of burnt marijuana and observed marijuana residue in plain view inside the vehicle.

During a probable cause search of the driver, troopers discovered a pill bottle containing 150 Oxycodone pills. A probable cause search of the vehicle also revealed marijuana residue on the driver side floorboard. The contraband has an estimated street value of $4,500.

The driver, Anwarr Pennix, 31, of Detroit, MI, was incarcerated in the Lorain County Jail. He is charged with possession of a schedule II substance and aggravated drug trafficking, which are second-degree felonies.
